As Cuba celebrates Farmers’ Day and the 66th anniversary of the First Agrarian Reform Law, the 397 delegates discuss how to channel government efforts to achieve food sovereignty.

The organization’s structural strengthening, political work, and productive and economic issues topped debates on Friday in three commissions at Havana’s Conference Center.

The Association’s work is vital to fulfill food projects and programs of the Government’s agenda, aimed at reversing the current complicated economic situation.

Associated with ANAP, usufructuaries, owners, tenants, and peasant families take care of 45 percent of the farmland in the Caribbean country.

This Friday marks the signing of the First Agrarian Reform Law by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
