The information states that a local resident was arrested, and a criminal case was opened against him for preparing a terrorist attack. He was charged and, at the request of the investigation, remanded in custody.

Petrenko explained that during a search of the man’s home, his cell phone was seized.

During the inspection of the device, the investigators found out mails with the supervisor of the Ukrainian special services regarding the mission of picking up a stash in a forest park west of Moscow.

“Right away, investigators from the Capital Investigation Committee, along with operational law enforcement officers, searched the referred location in a forest park, where the improvised explosive device was found and confiscated.

Following the supervisor’s instructions, the accused planned to use it to cause an explosion in crowded places,” he stated.
