According to a statement from the Syrian Presidency, the visit seeks to strengthen fraternal relations and bilateral coordination between Damascus and Kuwait.
The statement added that the conversations covered avenues for joint cooperation in the political and economic fields, which would favor the interests of both peoples and strengthen joint Arab action.
Kuwaiti media indicated that this visit confirms support for the Syrian people and their unity and sovereignty.
Diplomatic relations between these two Arab nations, officially initiated on October 24, 1963 and interrupted between 2012 and 2024 due to the war, were resumed on December 30, 2025, with a visit to Damascus by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya.
On the same day, the first airlift flights left Kuwait to help Syrians and alleviate their suffering.
This is the fourth visit by the Syrian President to a Gulf country after similar ones to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
