In a statement released Sunday night on social media, the Cambodian leader explained that the decision was made following a briefing with senior military officials deployed along the border.
“I have instructed the JBC to immediately organize a meeting with our Thai counterpart to continue the surveying, demarcation, and installation of border markers,” Hun Manet said.
The Prime Minister announced that Cambodia is preparing to submit a proposal to the International Court of Justice to settle the disputes surrounding the Ta Moan Thom, Ta Moan Toch, and Ta Kro Bei temples.
Manet also reaffirmed Cambodia’s peaceful intentions and noted that the country remains committed to resolving border issues through technical mechanisms and legal principles.
