Russia calls Bryansk train attack state terrorism

Moscow, June 5 (Prensa Latina) Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the Ukrainian authorities' ordering of the train attack in the Russian province of Bryansk as state terrorism.

“It was precisely the leadership of the Kyiv regime that consciously gave the order and mandate to blow up a passenger train. This is nothing other than state-level terrorism,” Peskov told reporters Thursday.

In his opinion, the decision to carry out the attacks in the Kursk and Bryansk regions would not have been possible without the consent of Ukraine’s highest political level.

On the night of May 31 to June 1, in the Bryansk province, bordering Ukraine, an automobile bridge collapsed as passenger train No. 86 Klimov-Moscow was passing underneath. Seven people died and more than 100 were injured.

Shortly after, another bridge was attacked in the neighboring Kursk region, also bordering Ukraine. The driver of a freight train and his two assistants were injured in the incident.

Russia’s Investigation Committee accused Kyiv of being behind these sabotages, which it described as terrorist acts.
