The meeting between the head of the MIC and head of the Vietnamese government’s negotiating delegation, Nguyen Hong Dien, and the US Trade Representative, Jamieson Greer, took place the day before, according to the pre-established plan by both parties.

The Ministry indicated that the two ministers decided to assign technical levels to intensify exchanges through online work sessions in content groups to resolve pending technical problems as much as possible.

It added that the two sides pledged to continue close coordination and are willing to conduct further exchanges at the ministerial level to promote the negotiation process towards mutually beneficial outcomes.

The 2nd round of negotiations of the Vietnam-US Bilateral Reciprocal Trade Agreement was held in Washington on May 19-22 and concluded with positive progress and consensus in many thematic groups.
