The top diplomat noted that the leaders of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization “relentlessly incite Kiev to continue hostilities, supply it with weapons, technology and promises of more.”
They also assist Kiev in organizing and carrying out various sabotage and provocative actions, and spread a torrent of disinformation aimed at hindering the negotiation process, Riyabkov added.
“The strategists in Brussels do not stop trying to convince US President Donald Trump to return to the policy pursued by his predecessor, Joe Biden,” the deputy foreign minister continued, adding that this policy meant unconditional support for Ukraine and further escalation.
Riyabkov also recalled that it is precisely from that perspective that the Russian side “perceives the statements and actions of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, including his words about lifting restrictions on the Ukrainian Armed Forces launching missile strikes against Russia.”
