During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral friendship, future cooperation in strengthening diplomatic ties and Myanmar’s preparations for holding general elections.
Present with the Nepalese Foreign Minister were officials from her ministry, while the Myanmar ambassador was accompanied by the deputy chief of mission of the Burmese embassy in Nepal.
Myanmar and Nepal have a long history of bilateral relations based on mutual affection, friendship, religion and culture.
The two countries officially established diplomatic ties on March 19, 1960.
Nepal opened an embassy in Yangon and Myanmar opened one in Kathmandu, actively engaging in diplomatic affairs and promoting friendly relations between the two nations.
