Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian also emphasized the rejection of the intensification of contradictions and the expansion of conflicts.

“The sudden escalation of the regional situation is not in the interest of any party. China urges all relevant govnment and institutions to do more to promote regional peace and stability and prevent further escalation of tensions,” the spokesperson stated.

The spokesman noted China’s concern about Israel’s attacks and “the serious consequences they may cause.”

The Chinese embassies in Iran and Israel urged their citizens in those countries to take greater precautions and increase security measures.
