Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian underscored that this initiative is part of the cooperation mechanism established between Beijing and the five Central Asian nations (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan).

The spokesperson stated that its establishment responds to a shared decision and reflects the common interest in maintaining regional stability and achieving sustainable development.

Lin explained that Xi Jinping chaired the first China-Central Asia Summit in Xian in May 2023, which marked the beginning of a new stage in bilateral relations.

Lin Jian noted that, since then, cooperation between the two sides has steadily advanced.

At this second edition, to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on June 16-18, Xi will deliver a speech and hold meetings with attending leaders.
