In the session on “Energy Security: Diversification, Technology, and Infrastructure to Ensure Access and Affordability in a Changing World” at the Group of Seven (G7) Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, the Indian prime minister expressed that the conflicts in several parts of the world have a debilitating impact on the Global South countries.
He also pointed out that a technology-driven world demands closer cooperation among nations, and to achieve this, people and the planet must be at the center of progress.
He emphasized that energy security is one of the leading challenges facing future generations.
Modi also demanded strong measures against countries that support and promote terrorism, stated that there should be no double standards in addressing it, and urged countries to strengthen the global fight against this scourge.
The prime minister also spoke about the connection between technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and energy.
He mentioned initiatives undertaken by India, such as the International Solar Alliance, the Disaster Resilient Infrastructure Coalition, the Global Biofuels Alliance, Mission LiFE, among others, and urged the international community to further strengthen them.
