A Foreign Ministry statement reproduced by the state news agency KCNA condemns in harsh terms Tel Aviv’s aggression against Iran and assures that it is an act of state terrorism.
It recalls that Israel has expanded its territory through four wars and dozens of military invasions, and in recent times has intensified its attacks on the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria and other countries in the region, “thus massacring tens of thousands of civilians and creating a serious humanitarian crisis”.
It denounces that the Israeli aggression against Iran violates basic principles of the UN Charter by violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of a sovereign state and constitutes “an unforgivable crime against humanity”.
The statement criticizes the international community for watching in silence as U.S. and Western forces fan the flames of war, ignoring the Islamic Republic’s legitimate right to defense and pushing the situation in the region into an “uncontrollable catastrophic” phase.
The responsibility for the destruction of international peace lies with the aggressive forces that provoked this new war in the Middle East, he stresses.
