Themed “Pathways to Prosperity,” the debates among government delegations and business leaders will take place. Exhibitions and business meetings, among other activities, will be held at the event venue near the Port of Luanda.
The opening ceremony was held on Sunday and was presided over by Angolan Minister of Industry and Commerce Rui Mingues and co-chaired by Florizelle Liser, President of the Corporate Council of Africa (CCA).
Mingues maintained that the meeting is not only a business opportunity with potential US partners, but also a platform for African entrepreneurs to meet and discuss business opportunities between the continent’s nations.
Liser, in turn, highlighted the possibility of exploring mechanisms to improve trade and investment relations between Africa and the United States.
Among the more than 2,000 attendees are the presidents of Gabon, Brice Nguema; Botswana, Duma Boko; Namibia, Ndemupelila Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah; and Ethiopia, Taye Selassie, who arrived in Luanda on Sunday.
