A Foreign Ministry statement announced that Abdelatty discussed with the visitor the mediating countries’ coordination to end hostilities and facilitate a prisoner swap between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement.
The Egyptian foreign minister detailed Cairo’s efforts to negotiate a ceasefire as humanitarian conditions in the territory continue to deteriorate.
The diplomat also emphasized the urgency of allowing unhindered entry of humanitarian aid to the coastal enclave, which is suffering from a shortage of food, medicine, fuel, and other essential products as a result of the Israeli blockade, the text stated.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians and condemned Israeli military operations in the occupied West Bank, describing them as a growing threat to regional stability.
He also called for ending Jewish settler violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank.
