Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made his remarks at a meeting of the Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs.

In his remarks, Xi emphasized that building a unified national market is essential to creating a new development model and promoting high-quality development, and urged strengthening coordination and cooperation to generate synergies in related work.

Xi emphasized that pushing forward China’s modernization requires promoting the high-quality development of the maritime economy and forging a Chinese strategy of harnessing marine resources to achieve its strength.
