Hernandez was received this Wednesday morning in Viareggio by members of the local circle of the Italy-Cuba Friendship Association, the president of that group, Marco Papacci, told Prensa Latina.
Papacci said that, as part of his visit to Italy, organized by that frienship association, Hernandez, who is also a lawmaker and a member of the Cuban Council of State, met on Tuesday with Cosimo Guccione, president of the Florence City Council, and Councilman Dmitrij Palagi, a member of the Left Project of that commune.

At that meeting held at the headquarters of the Florence mayor’s office and also attended by Marco Fantechi, a member of the Association’s national secretariat, the Italian authorities reaffirmed their condemnation of the United States’ economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba.
They also spoke out against Cuba’s inclusion in Washington’s State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list, a unilateral action by the US government aimed at increasing pressure against that country.
This Wednesday, the Cuban hero will participate in an event to take place at Maestri d’Ascia e Calafati Hall, in the CRO Darsene 45 social center, sponsored by the Partisanos por Siempre Association in that town.
