Cuba thanks China for support on blockade and terrorist designation

Havana, July 3 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed his gratitude for the Chinese Foreign Ministry's statements against the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba and its unilateral re-inclusion on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

The top Cuban diplomat stated at the 10th meeting that the US government should observe the international community’s calls to end its anti-Cuban policy.

The day before, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning urged the United States to lift sanctions against Cuba and remove the Caribbean country from its designation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

At a press conference, Mao rejected the memorandum to toughen US policy toward Cuba, signed last Monday by President Donald Trump.

China firmly supports Cuba on a development path that suits its national conditions and opposes Washington’s unilateral sanctions under the pretext of so-called freedom and democracy, he added.
