State interference in Grand Lodge of Cuba denied

Havana, Jul 8 (Prensa Latina) Justice Minister Oscar Manuel Silvera confirmed that, as before, the Masonic Grand Lodge of Cuba will manage its operations and resolve all conflicts without the intervention of any governmental entity.

Freemasonry has extensive legislation that covers all aspects of the fraternity’s life and has mechanisms in place to resolve various situations that may arise, Silvera affirmed.

The justice minister categorically denied on national television accusations of alleged state intervention in the Grand Lodge, citing conflicts related to the institution’s leadership.

The accusation of interference, favoritism, or privileges allegedly exercised by government entities over members of these groups is false, he asserted in the public appearance.

Any accusation of state interference, he insisted, is “false, biased, and malicious.”

We have historically maintained strict respect for Freemasonry from the Justice Ministry (MINJUST), and in the future, we will always maintain strict respect for Freemasonry, he assured.
