The meeting, led by journalist and critic Fernando Rodriguez, will have as guests Hector Hernandez, close collaborator of Hart Dávalos, deputy general director of the Office of the Programa Martiano and coordinator of the José Martí Project of Internacional Solidarity, and Yasel Toledo, president of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS), an organization that brings together the artistic and literary avant-garde of young people in the country.

According to the statement of the Cuban Book Institute, tenor Bernardo Lichilín will delight with works by Cuban composers.

Armando Hart Davalos, after the revolutionary triumph of 1959, held important positions as Minister of Education and Culture, director of the Office of the Programa Martiano and president of the Jose Marti Cultural Society.

He was also a member of the July 26 Movement and an active fighter against Fulgencio Batist´s tyranny.

The timely praise is intended to honor writers, books, historical events and institutions that arrive at closed anniversary.

This space takes its name from the Marti´s aphorism «timely praise encourages merit; and the lack of timely praise discourages him», which appears on the pages of the newspaper Patria, on April 1892.

It is convened by the Fayad Jamís Bookstore, the Club Martiano Roberto Fernández Retamar and the Sections of Culture and Social Sciences of the Economic Society of Friends of the Country.
