Any immigrant who enters the country illegally will be arrested, conservative Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said during a session of Parliament broadcast live.

The emergency situation calls for emergency measures, Mitzotakis said, referring to the considerable increase in irregular arrivals from North Africa to the Greek island of Crete in recent weeks.
