Most new departmental governments will be formed this Thursday.

This will occur in Artigas, Cerro Largo, Colonia, Durazno, Flores, Maldonado, Paysandu, Salto, San Jose, and Tacuarembo, led by the National Party mayors.

The Broad Front (Frente Amplio-FA) coalition won the departmental intendancies of Montevideo with Mario Bergara, Canelones with Francisco Legnani, and Rio Negro with Guillermo Levratto. Colorado Party member Richard Sander will take office in Rivera in the presence of former President Jose Maria Sanguinetti.

The White Party members Carlos Enciso in Florida, Alejo Umpierrez in Rocha, Guillermo Besozzi in Soriano, Mario Silvera in Treinta y Tres, as well as Broad Front member Daniel Ximenez in Lavalleja will be sworn in on Friday.

President Yamandu Orsi will attend five mayors’ inaugurations, from three Broad Front municipalities (Canelones, Rio Negro, and Lavalleja) and two from the National Party (Maldonado and Florida).
