These are the revised drafts of the Cuban Sports System, the Children’s, Teenagerss’ and Youth’s Code, the General Regime for Contraventions and Administrative Sanctions, and the Civil Registry.
These texts will be submitted to the lawmakers for consideration during the 5th Ordinary Session of the Assembly, scheduled to begin on July 16 at the Havana-based Conference Center.
The Council of State examined them on Thursday during an extraordinary session chaired by Esteban Lazo, president of that body and the Parliament, and attended by party and government officials.
Regarding the proposed Code of Children, Teenagers, and Youth, Education Minister Naima Trujillo explained the adjustments included in the statute and highlighted the corrections made after expert consultations and the lawmakers’ opinions.
According to the National Assembly´s report the bill was considered of great importance for the present and future of the Caribbean society.
Justice Minister Oscar Manuel Silvera assured that the draft bills on the General Regime of Contraventions and Administrative Sanctions and the Civil Registry Law will be essential guarantors of the legal system, the same source stated.
Lazo, in turn, highlighted the broad and fruitful debate developed over months of consultations with experts, athletes, organizations, and the population, which enriched the legislative proposals.
