“Israel recently built more than eight military bases from northern Quneitra to the Yarmouk basin in the south, within the buffer zone stipulated in the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement,” Al-Saeed revealed in statements published today in the Syrian press.
He pointed out that such violations have led to the closure of approximately six thousand hectares of agricultural land and pastures to the civilian population, causing significant losses to families who depend on livestock for their livelihood.
The official rejected Tel Aviv’s allegations about the presence of Hizbullah fighters and Iranian forces, and assured that since December 8, 2024 such elements were completely withdrawn and the area is currently under the control of security units attached to the Syrian Ministry of Interior.
On the other hand, the deputy governor affirmed that the Israeli army tries to legitimize its activities in the governorate with baseless pretexts and excuses, and denounced that the Zionist violations are not only military, but also have repercussions that directly affect the daily life of the population.
