The 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ meeting concludes in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, July 11 (Prensa Latina) The 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting concludes its sessions in Malaysia, with an agenda packed with commitments to greater inclusion and collaboration.

The event brought together a large number of Foreign Ministers and high-ranking diplomats from around the world to discuss pressing global and regional issues, foster cooperation, and advance the regional bloc’s security and sustainability agenda.

Malaysia assumes the presidency of the organization in 2025, which also includes Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei, and Myanmar.

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Center hosted the event, as well as a series of 24 meetings held from July 8 to 11, with the attendance of commissioners from various international organizations.

Representatives from ASEAN’s external dialogue partners also participated: Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, India, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Among the main proposals was the call to build a stronger and more connected ASEAN economy to address the complex geopolitical and trade landscape of the coming decades.
