International Coalition conducts operation in northeastern Syria

Damascus, Jul 13 (Prensa Latina) The forces of the international coalition led by the United States carried out today an airborne operation in the north of the province of Deir Ezzor, some 450 kilometers northeast of Damascus, the Syrian capital.

Local sources indicated that the operation targeted a house inhabited by a man named Hassan Muhaisen Al-Aliwi, in the town of Abu Al-Nitel.

The arrested man was a former leader of the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group and operated under the name Abu Hassan Al-Bakri.

Allied troops frequently conduct air operations in northeastern Syria against individuals accused of belonging to ISIS.

Last June 12, U.S. Central Command announced a strike in northwestern Syria that killed an ISIS leader named Rahim Boev.
