Granma newspaper explained that gas stability allows recovering generation capacities with an average contribution of around 200 megawatts to the National Electric System.

The article reiterated that the production of natural gas contributes to the Energas Boca de Jaruco and Energas Puerto Escondido plants, and is part of the strategy designed to increase the supply of the fuel for electricity generation.

Production increase reached about two million 500 thousand cubic meters so far in July, informed Reinier Garcia, director of the production at Empresa de Perforacion de Petroleo y Gas de Occidente.

Garcia explained that gas supply in this summer is quite high, compared to the same period last year.

He detailed that the stability in the delivery allowed the recovery of generation capacities equivalent, as a net average, to around 200 megawatts (mw) to the National Electric System.
