President Luis Abinader released the information during a press briefing where he explained that the amount recovered will be be transferred to the State through the National Institute for the Custody and Administration of Seized, Confiscated and Forfeited Goods (Incabide), which will be in charge of the auctions of the movable goods.
In the case of real property (cash), he explained that it will be transferred to the National Treasury and will be used to meet the needs of the Government, either for investments or for budgeted expenses.
In the meeting with the press, it was reported that the Government seeks to sanction non-compliances with transparency in the public bodies and entities under the Executive Branch and has registered, to date, 287 cases of administrative misconduct referred to the Ministry of Public Administration and 49 cases of officials taken to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
