According to the latest report from the National Meteorological Center, the typhoon was located at 19.9 degrees north latitude and 120.2 degrees east longitude, moving northwest at a speed of between 15 and 20 kilometers per hour.
Experts predict Wipha will make landfall in the afternoon or evening hours of Sunday (local time) in the coastal areas between the cities of Shenzhen, Guangdong province, and Wenchang, on Hainan Island.
China uses a four-level, color-coded typhoon warning system, with red indicating the most severe situation, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
