Nicaragua: River of people celebrated anniversary of national holiday

Managua, Jul 20 (Prensa Latina) Thousands of Nicaraguans celebrated the 46th anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Popular Revolution in this capital at a ceremony presided over by co-Presidents Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.

In Managua’s Plaza de la Fe, the attendees, mostly young people, hummed patriotic songs in an atmosphere of joy and love for their country, while waving the blue and white flags and those of the Sandinista Front for National Liberation (FSLN).

Official delegations from friendly countries, such as Cuba, China, Russia, Palestine, Abkhazia, Myanmar, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Algeria, and Belarus, joined the celebration.

Representatives from Venezuela, Vietnam, Turkiye, Burkina Faso, Honduras, the Ivory Coast, and Kuwait also attended the significant event.

In a welcome message read by co-President Rosario Murillo at the beginning of the event, she emphasized that peace, which cost them so much and for which hundreds of thousands of Nicaraguans gave their lives, is their highest cultural and heroic heritage, and the decency of the deepest and most genuine conviction of triumph and future.

Murillo expressed that her country will remain free, described the people of this nation as brave and heroic, and affirmed that the triumph of the Sandinista People’s Revolution forever changed the history of Nicaragua.

During the ceremony, representatives of friendly nations such as Russia and China read congratulatory messages sent by their respective governments for the national holiday, in which they expressed their willingness to deepen strategic relations with Nicaragua.
