The three-day training will include the participation of ships from the Iranian and Russian navies, naval forces from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and observers from other Caspian Basin states.

The military institution announced that the exercise aims to improve maritime security in the Caspian Sea and interoperability between the coastal states.

The previous edition of Casarex 2024 involved three Iranian Sina-class fast attack boats, two Agusta-Bell AB-212 helicopters, an IRGC flotilla, and the Russian SB 45 tugboat.
