This is one of the tasks being undertaken there in recognition of the celebration there of the main event for July 26, National Rebellion Day.
One of the main actions is the expansion of the International Medical Care ward, due to the influx of foreign tourists seeking specialized medical care at that hospital, said the deputy director of the health institution, Miguel de Jesus Mazorra.
This space, with capacity for seven inpatients, has a team of highly qualified doctors and nurses in the different branches of health care and conditions that offer safety to patients.
Due to its near location to Jardines del Rey tourist destination, many foreign travelers staying at hotels in Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, and Cayo Paredon Grande, or in rental houses located in Moron, not alone look for medical emergencies there but also for secondary and outpatient care, Mazorra said.
The hospital is also receiving improvements to its paintwork, replacement of furniture, air conditioning equipment, and a remodeled kitchen-dining room, which will house new food preparation equipment, with the goal of improving working conditions. Likewise, in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks, the Antonio Luaces Iraola Provincial Hospital in the capital of Ciego de Avila is undergoing a facelift in all its facilities, including a complete renovation of all six operating rooms.
