Havana gallery talks about the work of Jesus Lara Sotelo

Havana, July 23 (Prensa Latina) Collage Habana gallery hosts the colloquium "The Eye that Bleeds Light: The Written Work of Jesus Lara Sotelo", a proposal that is part of the collateral activities for its exhibition "I Was my Worst Abyss."

According to the invitation, participants to the event can debate on the artist’s literary work, both published and unpublished.

The event also includes the presentation of the aphorism notebook “I was my Worst Abyss”, which showcases the author’s reflections on art, creation, and today’s situation.

As part of the encounter, renowned art critic and curator Nelson Herrera Ysla highlights the notebook’s relevance within Lara Sotelo’s work, and editor, poet, and writer Alberto Marrero analyzes the author’s 13 published books together with his latest creations, yet-to-be-published.

“Jesus Lara Sotelo builds an artistic universe in which poetry, aphorisms, short stories, and essays are not limited to literary genres, but work as expressions of a deep inner examination,” the note adds.

Collage Habana is hosting the solo exhibition “I was my Worst Abyss,” a visual journey through the 36 years of an artistic venture, through which the public can enjoy a selection of works that mirror the author’s talent and passion for painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation, and ceramics.

This is just the start of an exhibition that will be open until September.
