Cuba remembers 242 anniversary of Simon Bolivar’s birth

Havana, 24 jul (Latin Press) The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, today recalled the 242nd anniversary of the birth of El Libertador, Simon Bolivar, a champion of independence in several Latin American countries.

In his account on the social network X, the Foreign Affairs Miister wrote: “We honor Simon Bolivar, El Libertador, who fought victoriously for the independence and unity of the Patria Grande (Great Homeland).

His work inspires us to fight for justice, sovereignty and the integration of Our America”.

Simon Jose Antonio de la Santisima Trinidad Bolivar y Palacios (24 July 1783 – 17 December 1830) was a Venezuelan statesman and military who led the struggle for independence of the Spanish empire from the nations that today make up Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru , Panama and Bolivia.
