A rejuvenated boulevard with all its buildings repaired, displaying bright colors and murals and large-format prints in various spaces contribute to the beautification of the city, actions that show the efforts of construction workers and visual artists in the region.

Likewise, the central Jose Marti Park showcases its splendor with new lighting, and Teatro Principal, the province’s most eclectic architectural gem, has been remodeled and boasts excellent comfort, making it perfect for tonight’s cultural gala, which precedes the July 26th commemoration.

Maximo Gomez Plaza, fully decorated with its renovated areas, is almost ready to welcome the hundreds of Ciego de Avila residents, Cuban leaders, and nearly 500 people from 23 countries, including the United States, who will attend tomorrow’s celebration of National Rebellion Day.

Another area that will also be part of the renovation is the much-loved square Parque de la Ciudad, which has received cleaning and beautification, solar lamps have been installed, and the Turbine, the water feature that distinguishes this recreational spot, has been restored to its former glory.

Every emblematic space in Ciego de Avila treasures a change, despite the limitations and restrictions currently facing the Cuban economy, but with the certainty that everything will remain for the future enjoyment and well-being of the inhabitants of this central Cuban city.

As Julio Gomez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in this province, told Granma newspaper, “For Ciego de Avila people, this is an event of great significance, given the times we are living in, marked by the US aggressiveness, which has imposed defiant laws with the sole objective of destroying the Revolution.”
