Organized by the Cuban Book Institute (ICL), the event, which gathers readers every Saturday on Calle de Madera, next to the Plaza de Armas (Parade Ground) in Old Havana, will take place at 11:00 hours (local time).
Published by the Cubadebate website and the Ocean Sur publishing house, the volume addresses several areas of knowledge. “It is not an academic book, although in its origins it was still only an academic one,” the author stated.
“It is not a treatise on theory, even though its earliest essays were intended as responses to the conceptual concerns of my students in the Theory and History of Marxism courses at the University of Havana,” Perez Valdes, who is also the host of the TV program Cuadrando la Caja explained, according to a statement from the ICL.
She asserted that it is not a learning manual or a journalistic pamphlet, “even though it was conceived entirely for digital media, highlighting the Cubadebate website as the leading repository for this reflective effort.”
