On Friday, the interdiction brigades of this body apprehended 1,196 Haitians in irregular immigration status during operations conducted in several provinces.

During the day, its agents, together with other state security forces, detained immigrants in the East zone, in Greater Santo Domingo, La Vega, Dajabon, Montecristi, and Mao/Santiago Rodriguez, among other districts.

The Army, the National Police, the Defense Ministry, the Navy, and the Air Force, among other agencies, participated in the operations.

A release by the General Directorate of Migration points out that joint training and real-time information exchange have optimized resources and increased the effectiveness of detecting illicit activities, including human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
