Through a statement sent to Prensa Latina, the political group hailed the heroic Cuban people, its communist force, heir to the movement generated by that event, and the State of the Socialist Republic.
The National Revolutionary Unity political party underscored that July 26 was the starting point of the Cuban emancipatory struggles, which, with their revolutionary and internationalist consequences, are currently an example and a stimulus for those of humanity.
It noted that imperialism (the United States) and its tentacles have imposed, over these 62 years, on the island and its people the most inhumane and criminal economic, financial, commercial, political, and diplomatic blockade.
Despite this, the Guatemalan party added, the heroic Cuban people and their socialist revolution, in an exemplary and inspiring manner, resist, defend, and overcome their sovereignty, self-determination, and non-alignment.
Cuba’s National Rebelliousness Day marked a period that ended with the overthrow of dictator Fulgencio Batista, the beginning of a triumphant process on January 1, 1959, which demonstrated the possibility of overcoming the most powerful forces.
