The Foreign Ministry emphasized in a statement that the actions were led by rebellious youth under the leadership of Fidel Castro Ruz and “marked an irreversible milestone in the history of the struggle for social justice and the liberation of peoples.”
It affirmed that July 26, 1953, was not just a military action, but the awakening of a Revolution that “became a symbol of dignity, sovereignty, and self-determination for all of Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The official statement stated that Venezuela—heir to the legacy of Simon Bolivar and Commander Hugo Chavez—joins the brave people of Cuba, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, and fellow President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez in paying tribute to the heroes of July 26th.
It also reaffirmed “its unwavering commitment to the Cuban Revolution and to the common cause for social justice and regional integration.”
The statement reaffirmed that, united in the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty, “Cuba and Venezuela continue to walk together on the path of sovereignty, internationalism, and the construction of the Great Homeland dreamed of by Marti and Bolivar.”
“Honor and eternal glory to July 26th! Until victory, always!” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
