According to reports, two Israeli military vehicles entered the village of Saida Al-Hanout, amid intense aerial activity by Israeli reconnaissance aircraft over the area.
The hostile action sparked fear among local residents, although no clashes or direct contact between Israeli forces and ground forces were reported, the sources reported.
Israel has justified such incursions with the argument of protecting the Druze community, present both in Syria and in the occupied territories.
However, observers agree that such actions are part of an escalation of aggression that includes recent bombings against Defense Ministry facilities and the Presidential Palace in Damascus.
Syria’s transitional president, Ahmad Al-Shara, has repeatedly denounced Tel Aviv’s actions as a permanent threat to the stability of the Arab country and as seeking to foment internal divisions.
