In the Hall of Mirrors at the Provincial Government Palace, the ceremony was led by Governor Manuel Falcon Hernandez, who thanked all members of Medicuba España for their solidarity with Cuban health and education, particularly Santiago.

In his words of appreciation, Francisco Hernandez, who also coordinates the homonymous Volunteer Work Brigade, expressed that the will of the NGO and the brigade is to continue collaborating with health, special education schools and with the Municipal Directorate of Education in Santiago de Cuba.

Hernandez recognized “all those friends who make these projects possible, such as Juan Moreno and Agustín de Concha, who have stayed in Torrejón, preparing all the material to send here,” and stressed the value of working in a collective.

He clarified that one of the fundamental objectives of this brigade, is to make Spain be aware of the reality of Cuba, not the distorted one, transmitted by the media and social networks, but what they perceive in their visits, a task they hope to have fulfilled.

Medicuba Spain was also declared a Distinguished Visitor by the Municipal Assembly of the People’s Power of Santiago de Cuba, and has already accumulated 10 years in the delivery of donations from the Spanish people to the Cubans, as well as offering their hands in volunteer work.
