Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister receives his Cuban counterpart

Addis Ababa, Jul 28 (Prensa Latina) The Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Temesgen Tiruneh, today received his counterpart from Cuba, Jorge Luis Tapia, as part of the Second Review of the United Nations Summit on Food Systems (UNFSS+4).

Tiruneh pointed out in his social network X account that the two countries have a long-standing diplomatic relationship dating back more than 50 years.

The incumbent revealed that during the talks they talked about the ways to further strengthen this partnership in multiple areas of cooperation.

“Our conversation was productive and progressive. We reaffirm our mutual commitment to strengthen bilateral collaboration, especially in key political and economic areas that promise shared benefits for both nations,” he said.

Tapia, for his part, commended Ethiopia’s continued development efforts, particularly the progress made in food security in recent years.

He expressed his admiration for the visible transformations under way in Addis Ababa.

Previously, the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister laid a wreaths in front of murals paying tribute to the 163 Caribbean fighters who fell in defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the African nation, located in the Ethiopia-Cuba Friendship Park.

Ethiopian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hadera Abera, accompanied Tapia and stressed that the friendship between the two countries is enduring and defined by a legacy of shared sacrifice.
