The 33rd edition of the Latin American Brigade of Volunteer Work and Solidarity with Cuba will be in Cuba in January 2026, the year in which the centenary of Fidel Castro’s birth will be commemorated.

The Uruguayan contingent is made up of workers, students and retirees, who will carry in their suitcases and backpacks the solidarity load.

This was said on behalf of the brigadistas by young Pablo Amorena.

It was last night in the theater “El Galpon”, in the Uruguayan capital, where friends of the Cuban Revolution celebrated the Cuban National Rebellion Day.

There, messages were heard from social and political organizations in support to Cuba and in repudiation to the blockade with which the United States intends to crush that people.

Among the pronouncements amde were those of the Communist Party of Uruguay, the Antifascist International Uruguay Chapter, the Revolutionary Workers Party and the Federation of University Students of Uruguay.

Marcelo Abdala, president of the PIT-CNT, spoke on behalf of all the member organizations of the Uruguayan Anti-Imperialist Committee of Friendship with Cuba and the Peoples of the World.
