The meeting bets on strengthening international consensus on the implementation of the “two-state” solution.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, China supports holding high-level meetings within the UN to move forward on this issue, at the time he highlighted the efforts of Saudi Arabia and France and positively valued the diplomatic momentum generated by the event.
He stated that the conference has strengthened the international call for a political solution based on the two-state framework.
At that meeting, the Chinese government’s special envoy for the Middle East, Zhai Jun, urged urgent action to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire and alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
He advocated the principle of “Palestinian management of Palestinian affairs” and the strengthening of the internal unity of that people.
He also stressed the need to support Palestinian institutional capacity and economic resilience.
China considers the Palestinian issue to be the core of the Middle East conflict and reaffirmed its commitment to a just, lasting, and comprehensive solution.
