The coordinator of the Executive Commission of the Social Dialogue, Hugo Bai, considered as a priority the greatest possible plurality, after the first meeting with representatives of Frente Amplio, Cabildo Abierto and six social organizations, including the PIT-CNT.
The parties National, Colorado, Independent and Sovereign Identity were absent from the meeting.
“I would have liked them to have been integrated” Bai commented.
“We have total openness, total flexibility to adapt the format and make the changes that they understand necessary to try to integrate them and that we can have a table with government actors, social organizations and political parties looking for agreements”, he added.
He explained that the Executive Commission does not have a resolution function. “The objective is to elaborate a document that tries to reflect the greatest possible agreements, but also to include the differences or nuances that each of the participants may have.”
Bai pointed out that this text will serve “as an input for the Executive Branch to define bills”, which will be dealt with in Parliament, an area he described as “decisive par excellence”.
