Russian air defense downs 32 Ukrainian drones over six regions

Moscow, Jul 31 (Prensa Latina) The operational air defense systems shot down in the last hours 32 Ukrainian attack drones that targeted the country's six southwestern regions, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.

The military institution announced on its official Telegram channel that 11 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down over the Volgograd region, seven over the Peninsula of Crimea, five over Voronezh, five others over Belgorod, two over Tambov, and two more over Rostov.

Meanwhile, the national air transport agency, Rosaviatsia, reported that temporary restrictions have been imposed at the Volgograd airport in the last day, due to security reasons.

Since the beginning of the special military operation on February 24, 2022, drone attacks launched from Ukraine on military and civilian targets in the Russian rear have become routine.

The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and the Peninsula of Crimea, regularly report shelling, drone strikes, and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek shelter elsewhere.
