“Europe has completely plunged into a Russophobic frenzy; its militarization is becoming uncontrolled. This is a more than alarming situation, and the OSCE could hardly be of help here,” Lavrov noted in a Rossiyskaya Gazeta article dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act.

The foreign minister specifically mentioned the case of Germany, where calls to arm itself, reinstate compulsory military service, and create Europe’s strongest regular army are being heard.

It is not surprising that the OSCE, amid a rampant campaign unleashed by the West against Russia, has also failed in its role to fight terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and other forms of crime, as well as ensuring international information security, Lavrov noted.

The head of Russian diplomacy noted that all these challenges persist but have been “sacrificed to isolate Moscow.”
