According to a statement released by the Holy See Press Office after the Mass for the Jubilation of Young People at the Tor Vergata field in Rome, His Holiness spoke of the need for peace and hope amid the problems afflicting humanity.
“We are closer than ever to young people who suffer the gravest evils, caused by other human beings,” the Bishop of Rome said, referring to all lands bloodied by war, among which he mentioned in particular Ukraine and the Gaza Strip.
After the Eucharistic celebration this Sunday morning, the Holy Father recited the Angelus prayer, and at the end, he addressed more than one million people who participated in the Jubilation of the Young People activities since July 28, thanking them for their presence.
“Thank you again, everyone!” “Thank you for the music, thank you to everyone who has worked to prepare this Jubilee this week,” he said, and recalled that this religious youth festival will take place in South Korea in 2027.
The Jubilation of the Young People, which concludes this Sunday, was the most anticipated event of the Holy Year 2025 and was attended by nearly one million young people from 146 countries, hosted in 370 parishes, 400 schools, and municipal sports centers equipped to accommodate pilgrims.
