The new regional office was established at the initiative of the United Nations and is located in Kazakhstan, with the aim of promoting the sustainable development goals in Central Asia in general, and in this nation specifically.
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reiterated his country’s support for the Afghan people and emphasized that long-term peace and sustainable development in Afghanistan are vital to ensuring regional security.
