Established in the UK in 2023, the said NGO provides financial and informational assistance to individuals and entities involved in extremist and terrorist activities, as well as to foreign agents, the prosecutor’s office explained in a press release delivered Tuesday.

At the beginning of 2025, according to the prosecution, Zimin Foundation launched a program to support Russian-speaking initiatives that had been left without access to US grants.

Thus, between February and March it awarded more than 30 grants “for the implementation of projects of journalists and researchers hostile to Russia.”

In addition, the statement adds, the organization spreads defamatory information about Russia in connection with the armed conflict in Ukraine.

An entity declared undesirable loses the right to create structures and legal entities in Russia, implement projects and disseminate information.

Russian citizens, Russian legal entities and stateless people permanently residing in Russia are forbidden to take part in the activities of declared undesirable entities.
