Amman maintains its leading role in international efforts to assist the Palestinian population in Gaza Strip by coordinating a new airlift mission of humanitarian aid with the participation of several allied countries, the official Petra news agency reported today.
It added that five military aircrafts, including a plane from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, one from the United Arab Emirates, one from the French Republic and two from the Federal Republic of Germany, took off from King Abdullah II Air Base, loaded with 35 tons of supplies, mainly children’s milk, food and basic necessities.
The loads were carefully prepared, sealed and secured to withstand the impact of the fall, and distributed to strategic points in the north and center of the coastal enclave, in coordination with international organizations operating on the ground.
This operation is part of the series of airdrops carried out by the Jordanian Armed Forces, and this mission brings to 140 the total number of airdrops carried out directly by Jordan on Gazan territory.
